I’ve always been a bit of a horophile (a person who likes clocks) – although I’m always late – and I especially like a clock that looks a little bit different and adds a certain je ne sais quoi to a room, so Newgate clocks arriving into the building is a little worrying for my bank account!

I personally like the big wall clocks that wouldn’t look out of place on a train station platform in the 1950s, but I think that is just because I’m a fan of all things from the 40s and 50s. My least favorites in the range are the ones that were used in the school gym at my high school, as they conjour up memories of exam-time. The large clear numbers, straight black hands, and the red second-hand just send shivers down my spine!
