Mother’s Day is almost here

Thursday, March 8th, 2012

I just thought I should remind you all that this year Mother’s Day is 18th March. Yes, that means you are rapidly running out of time to get a gift and card, to show your mummy how much you really do care.

Go-Electrical has some great gift ideas, and not all of them are budget busting. Why not give your mum a little piece of Le Creuset? Something useful, colourful and a brand she will know…the best bit? Prices start from a tiny £5.00.

If you don’t think that Le Creuset is quite right, what about a Dualit Latteccino? Small but perfectly formed, this milk frother is available in different colours and will enable mum to make her favourite milky drink with no problems, whether it be a latte, horlicks or hot chocolate.

For those of you who have a bigger budget, or just really want to show your mum how much you appreciate her, there are coffee machines, DAB radios and food processors galore. Visit the Mother’s Day Gift Ideas page to find the perfect gift, and show the special lady in your life how much you love her.

Remodelled KitchenAid blender

Wednesday, February 1st, 2012

KitchenAid have decided to improve their blender models by adding a ‘culinary jar’ to them, and here at Go-Electrical we think that this is a brilliant idea. It means that the already fabulous Artisan blender is even better.

The Culinary Jar has a small capacity of 0.75l which is ideal for making single servings of smoothies or juices, and small recipes such as pestos and sauces. The blades of the blender are strong, sharp stainless steel which are perfect from crushing ice, and creating an even finish to smoothies, so no lumps.

The rest of the specification for the Kitchenaid blender has not changed from the previous models and is as follows;

*Die-cast metal base – robust, stable and built to last

*Large durable glass jug with unique shape, easy pouring and easy clean – 1.5L Capacity

*Powerful motor with intelli-speed control

*“Soft start” feature – starts slowly then quickly increases speed for clean blending

*Locking collar assembly keeps blades from rotating until pitcher is properly attached *Reliable and easy to handle

*Clean touch control pad integrated into a smooth rounded design – easy to clean

*Strong, durable and quiet operation

*Stay-put lid with ingredient cup – practical, steadfast, tight-fitting and functional

New Cuisinart products, yippee!

Tuesday, August 23rd, 2011

You may know that some past blog posts have mentioned and discussed Cuisinart, because we at Go-Electrical believe that it is a brilliant brand which offers some great products. Well, we have just been informed that Cuisinart has added three new products to their range. Exciting stuff!

The first of these new products is a Fruit and Vegetable Juice Extractor (CJE1000U) which is very smart with its blue LED light and finished in stainless steel. The juicer is very quiet to use, and it features a 3” feed tube so that less chopping is needed. The juice container has a 1 litre capacity, while the pulp container is a large 2 litre and there is a five speed dial control. All removable parts are dishwasher safe to make life easier, and there is even a cleaning brush included so you can ensure that even the bits that can’t go in the dishwasher are nice and clean. The Fruit and Vegetable Juice Extractor is available to purchase now.

The second of the new products is a new kettle. Cuisinart already produces the ‘Perfectemp’ stove-top dome kettle, and the ‘Multi-temperature’ jug kettle, and now they have added an electric dome style kettle to the range,

The ‘Traditional’ Kettle (CTK17U) in brushed stainless steel holds 1.7 litres of water, and features two large windows so you can see exactly how much water you have and how much it is boiling. There is a nice, comfy soft-grip handle for ease of use and safety, and the on/off switch illuminates blue when the kettle is on. Personally, I prefer dome shaped kettles to taller jug styles, and this one looks quite cute (in a mushroom sort of way!)

The last of the new products is an Electric Spice and Nut Grinder (SG20U) which comes with two stainless steel bowls for grinding and storage. At only 19cm tall and 10cm wide it is nice and compact, and will fit in even the tightest of cupboards. The blades are stainless steel, and specially designed to grind up nuts and spices, and to keep the user safe there is a built-in safety interlock which keeps the lid securely in place while grinding. The grinder is easy to use with a ‘one touch’ control, and it is dishwasher safe, so no need to worry about odours or flavours lingering in the bowls.

The ‘Traditional’ Kettle and the Electrical Spice and Nut Grinder will be available the beginning of September, so keep your eyes peeled for them appearing on the website. All three new products have a three year manufacturer guarantee.

Juice, Juicy, Juicier…

Monday, July 4th, 2011

In the past few years there has been a lot of talk about the benefits that juicing can have, and how good it is for a healthy body. I have never really paid any attention before, believing that fruit and vegetable juice was thick, green and a bit stomach churning but I have recently discovered that this is definitely not the case. There are some very tasty recipes around, and it makes a change that something is extremely good for you, actually tastes good!

The benefits of juicing:

Juicing fruit and vegetables means that your body can absorb larger amounts of nutrients more effectively. The body doesn’t need to digest the food so the vitamins and minerals in the juice are absorbed quicker than usual.

If you think about the ‘five a day’ advise, you have to eat the recommended portion size of five different things every day. With juicing you use more fruit and vegetables than you can actually probably eat – its relatively easy to drink enough juice to obtain sufficient amounts of powerful nutrients, especially because juicing makes them so concentrated.

Fresh fruit and vegetables contain lots of brilliant enzymes – enzymes increase your metabolic rate, which means you can burn calories faster. Brilliant if you are trying to lose weight.

We all know how important the liver is, and juicing is a great way of looking after your liver. Certain nutrients are needed to help the liver detoxify, and seen as though the liver has over 700 functions it’s a good idea to look after it! Antioxidents beta-carotene, vitamin C and E and N-acetyle cysteine are all potent liver cleansers, and are all found in fruit and vegetables.

Not only that, the antioxidants from fruit and vegetables contain a wide range of plant chemicals called phytochemicals, and these amazing things been found to have anti-cancer properties.

Vitamin C, E, potassium and magnesium are important for improving the cardiovascular system, and maintaining a healthy heart. Blackberries, kiwi, asparagus and spinach and incredibly rich in all these things – now when would you ever eat those four things together normally? Juicing means it is easier (and probably tastier) to do just that.

Now, be honest, did you know all that about juicing? No, me neither!

Go-Electrical currently have juicers by Dualit and Magimix at brilliant prices, so don’t hesitate in buying one – just think of your health!  The Dualit 88305 is well built and sturdy, it has a large feeding tube which allows for minimum effort, and it features an extra capacity jug. The Magimix juicers come in standard, XL or XL Plus, and are not only available in black and silver, but red, cream and white too. As you would expect with Magimix products they are well made and very reliable.

Once you have purchased your new juicer, why not try one of these tasty recipes to give yourself a boost of energy and kick start better health. Tasty, easy and incredibly good for you!

Go-Electrical & Dualit

Thursday, March 17th, 2011

Go-Electrical is one of the biggest independent retailers of Dualit in the UK, and our warehouse is packed with Dualit stock. We love Dualit!

Dualit have been at the foreground of the consumer market since the late 1970’s, but have been around a lot longer than that. The first flip-sided toaster was made in 1946 and the brand steadily grew through the 1950s and 60s. Throughout the decades, the brand has remained true to founder, Max Gort-Barten’s original vision, and today Dualit provides a range of quality kitchen appliances.

The Dualit toaster is a design icon. From the Vario to the Combi and Bun toaster models, they all share the same timeless styling, reliability and Dualit design features. Dualit toasters are still built by hand in the UK, with the assembler’s stamp on every base plate, and every part is replaceable, meaning that a toaster could be in your household for years and years and years. The perfect wedding present maybe?

We love the range of colours that these classic toasters are available in. From Glacier blue to Azure blue, Mint green to Lime green and Petal pink to Chilli pink there is one to suit every kitchen. If you are after a more understated look then you can choose from the traditional white, cream, black and chrome. Personally I’m a fan of the red – it just looks amazing in my monochrome kitchen!

It’s a lot bigger than toast though. Dualit now have a wide range of kitchen appliances to help you get the most out of your kitchen – it is the hub of the home after all. We love the Dualit Espressivo coffee machine because of its compact size, stylish look and great performance. It may look like a complex appliance, but it is really simple which means it isn’t a lot of effort making delicious coffee before rushing off to work in a morning. The 1.5 litre tank holds enough water for 50 standard espresso shots, and the Thermobloc technology means that hot water and steam is available after just 40 seconds from switch on. Here at Go-Electrical we have the Espressivo available in three fabulous colours – Chrome, Black and Red, perfect for country kitchen or city pad.

Other appliances that we love are all fabulously stylish and extremely reliable and robust. The new XL1500 food processor is great – it is easy to use with 3 different capacity bowls, nine different tools for chopping, mixing, slicing and shredding and a dough blade for pastry and bread making. Perfect for all your cooking and baking needs. The Dualit juice extractor is also an excellent piece of kit – it produces pure juice without froth and the extra capacity pulp container and juice jug allow for continuous juicing. It has a nice large feed tube too, which means less chopping!
