We love PURE – regular readers of the blog will know that. We love them because of the quality and performance that they produce in their products, and that there is a radio to suit every need and budget. We also love new products, and PURE have launched two new models to the market, and guess what? We love them too!

First of all there is the PURE Move 2500, a sleek, modern compact portable digital radio that easily outshines the PocketDAB 1500 and Move Palm. The Move 2500 is like the much cooler, sexier cousin of the family.

The Move 2500 is a rechargeable personal DAB digital and FM radio weighing only 105g. It fits perfectly in the hand or a pocket as it is only 10.2cm tall and 5.6cm wide, with a skinny depth of 1.5cm, although because of its stylish shiny fascia you may want to keep it on display for the world to see. The Move 2500 has a aluminium fascia and mirror finished casing, its controls are recessed into the body so there are no controls to catch on the inside of your pockets and the ear-phones that come as standard are not like the usual plastic in-ear headphones we are used to. No, PURE have decided to provide comfortable in-ear, noise insulting headphones that are comfy and squishy so that they fit perfectly in the ear.

As the Move 2500 is so compact it is ideal for using in the gym or on a run, listening to the daily headlines on your commute into work or taking into the garden when your rockery needs weeding, and don’t worry about running out of power on your 15 mile run (I wish!) because the rechargeable ChargePak M1 battery gives up to 14 hours listening time per charge, that realistically means that you could probably use it everyday on the train to work for a week before recharging…think of the electricity that you could save!

Second of the new products is the PURE One Mini Series II billed by PURE as “the radio for everyone”, and is a remastered version of the very popular, award winning One Mini.

The Series II is an affordable, compact portable radio that can be used in every room of the house, and beyond as it has a telescopic aerial to ensure all possible radio stations can be picked up. It measures just 13.5cm tall and 13cm wide, and can take a rechargeable ChargePak B1 battery which will provide hours of listening time.

The One Mini Series II has remodelled satin chrome controls, and comes in a silky satin-touch finish (in black or white), and the screen is small, bright and concise with textSCAN to pause and control the scrolling text displayed. You can attach headphones if desired, and the One Mini Series II can be used as a speaker when connected to an MP3 player or iPod, so you are not just limited to FM and digital radio stations – you can pick your own soundtrack.

Just because it is small, it doesn’t mean that the Series II is any less of a radio. The sound that it produces is of excellent quality and it can reach a brilliant volume, and team this with the crisp output that DAB digital radio produces, you have a great little portable.
