Perhaps the most well known the part of the collection is Robert Welch’s kitchen knives. The blades of the Robert Welch signature kitchen knives are crafted from a fully forged high quality German stainless steel. This helps to create a much harder, stronger blade. The handle is made from tactile DuPont; specially shaped for comfort and balance, so you can use the knife with safety, and minimise hand fatigue. Each and every Signature knife is gift boxed, making them ideal for gifting.

Accessories for KitchenAid Stand Mixers

Thursday, June 27th, 2013

If you own, or lust after, a KitchenAid Artisan stand mixer, you are probably already aware of the broad range of accessories and attachments which can be purchased to turn the mixer into more than just a mixer, but if you are still in the dark about the brilliant KitchenAid mixers then you should keep reading to discover the possibilities.

The Go-Electrical website currently has a total of 27 genuine KitchenAid accessories/attachments which are suitable for the Artisan stand mixer. We thought it would be a good idea to talk you through a few of them, as many people haven’t a clue what some are for!

The KitchenAid Sausage Stuffer (SSA) is a compact attachment which enables the user to make sausages. Once the filling is ready (vegetarian or meat) then just the chosen skin on the end of the attachment, and feed the filling into the attachment, and there you have it. The Sausage Stuffer comes with two different sized feed tubes for thick and thin sausages, and it should be used with the KitchenAid Food Grinder (5FGA) which is also available from Go-Electrical. The Sausage Stuffer is available for £15.27, and the Food Grinder is currently £66.52.

KitchenAid mixers come with a beater and dough hook in the box, and replacements are available, but KitchenAid also manufacture a Flex-Edge Beater (5KFE5T) which can be purchased separately. This beater has a brilliant rubber edge which scrapes against the side of the bowl so there is no need to pause the mixing to use a spatula. This edge also helps make the mixing of the ingredients quicker. A must-have for bakers the Flex-Edge Beater is available for £29.00.

The newest addition to the attachment range is the Pasta Roller (KPSA). This attachment until recently was only available as part of the KitchenAid Pasta Attachment pack (KPRA) which contains the Pasta Roller and two pasta cutters. The KPSA allows the user to make pasta to any thickness and up to 140mm wide, and is great for making lasagne sheets, or sheets of pasta for ravioli. It is simple to use, just pass the pasta dough through the roller on a setting of 1 or 2 to work the dough and then use the higher numbered settings to flatten the dough to the desired thickness. Get the KitchenAid Pasta Roller (KPSA) now for £45.00.

If you want to turn your KitchenAid mixer into a food processor that there is an attachment pack which will enable you to do so. The Cone Slicer/Shredder  kit (MVSA) contains a medium shredding drum, a coarse shredding drum and a slicing drum which can be used to prep root vegetables, potatoes, onions, fruit, nuts, cheese and even chocolate. If chopping and slicing is a chore you hate, then the MVSA is definitely an accessory to consider – the current price for this attachment is £65.50.

The last attachment we’re looking at is the Grain Mill (5KGM) which is available from Go-Electrical for £150. This attachment allows the user to make flour using their choice of grain, which means that this attachment is perfect for people with allergies. Insert wheat, oats, rice, corn, barley, buckwheat, millet and other low moisture non-oily grains and adjust the mill accordingly, to make flour or coarsely cracked grains. Ideal for bread bakers, this attachment won’t be a necessity for every KitchenAid user, but it is a great investment.

To view the full range of available accessories and attachments for KitchenAid products, just visit the Go-Electrical KitchenAid pages. With such a wide range available, there is an accessory for everyone.

New cookware is coming! Welcome Jamie Oliver by Tefal

Wednesday, June 19th, 2013

The ‘Jamie Oliver by Tefal’ cookware range is coming to the Go-Electrical website very soon. So far, there are a limited amount of items already listed on the website, but more will be coming soon, we promise!

The products available at the moment are the ‘Jamie Oliver by Tefal Cast Iron’ range. These cookware products come in a stylish, matt black colour, and they induction compatible so can be used with any kind of hob. As you may already know, cast iron retains heat for longer than other cookware material which means it can be used at low temperatures, but as it is very robust it will withstand higher temperatures too – these products are oven safe up to 260°C.

The 26cm frying pan (E8800544) and the 24cm square gill pan (E8804044) feature a pouring spout for drip-free pouring, so it is easy to drain any extra liquid or fat. The interiors of the 30cm oval stewpot (E8801744), and the ‘Tegame’ round casserole pot (E8806344) are enamelled, which means that these products are easy to clean, and are even easier to maintain. All products in the range are free of lead and cadmium for healthy cooking.

“If you’ve got the right pans, you’re halfway there in the kitchen. That’s why I’m so proud of the ranges we’ve done with Tefal. Each set of pans has its benefits, so choose whatever suits you and your style of cooking. All of the pans are top quality and will help you get consistently good results, every time.”                                                                                                                                         JAMIE OLIVER

If you are interested in the ‘Jamie Oliver by Tefal’ cookware then visit our Tefal pages now, and remember, there will be more products coming to Go-Electrical soon so keep your eyes peeled.

Sharp and strong – it must be Global knives

Thursday, April 4th, 2013

Here at Go-Electrical we like cookware (as you may have realised), in fact you could say we love cookware and that is why we are so excited about this next bit… Global Knives are coming to the site soon!

For those people who don’t know, Global is a big name in knives, and many chefs swear by them, including Michel Roux Jnr who has recently put his face to a Global range. The company has been around since 1985 when a man named Komin Yamada was commissioned to design some new kitchen knives – he used the ancient Samurai tradition to create very sharp, very strong blades and teamed this with the most up-to-date materials and manufacturing techniques. Global knives are still manufactured in Japan today, and since their launch in 1985 the company and products have won many awards including a Which? and a Good Housekeeping award.

Professional chefs are faithful to Global Knives for a number of reasons, but the main three are; Global knives stay sharper for longer, each knife is balanced precisely – no blade is heavier than the handle and vice versa,  and the smooth, seamless design of the knives means that they are incredibly hygienic.

The knives stay sharper for longer because of “the Global edge” – this edge is different to other knife blades because it has been ground steeply to a point and not to a bevelled edge like other knives. The image below shows this much better than we can explain!

As you probably guessed, the Global range is huge and there are knives which are suitable for different tasks but for those who are just starting with a knife collection, Global suggest the following knives, as they will offer a good, all-round collection which can be expanded by adding further knives; A cook’s knife (20cm- G2), a peeling knife (8cm – GSF15), a carving knife (21cm – G3), a bread knife (22cm – G9) and a vegetable chopper (14cm – GS5).

If this has caught your attention and you are interested in finding out more, and maybe even purchasing then keep your eyes on the Go-Electrical website for the arrival of Global knives. If you are in the vicinity of our retail shop (J.W Garnett Ltd) you can drop in to see some of the Global collection because we do have limited stock available, and some of the great kitchen accessories that Global also produce.

More Le Creuset cookware available now

Thursday, January 24th, 2013

In previous blogs we have told our readers that the Go-Electrical range of Le Creuset would only keep on getting bigger, and we didn’t lie. If a new set of pans is on your wishlist then look no further than the Le Creuset 3-Ply Stainless Steel range, which is the newest addition to the Le Creuset pages of Go-Electrical

The 3-Ply range is constructed from three layers of stainless steel and aluminium which cleverly enables heat to spread consistently from base to rim. There is a mirror polished stainless steel interior, then a layer of aluminium and then a magnetic steel exterior, and this means that whatever it is that is being cooked, does so quickly and evenly. The pans feature capacity markings on the inside wall which is helpful when adding stock, and the all-round pouring rim means that there are less spills and drips when transferring liquids. Team this with the secure fixed cast handles that are used on the range and you are sure to avoid any mess.

All of the range is dishwasher safe, and it doesn’t matter what kind of hob you have as the 3-Ply range can be used on induction, gas, electric, ceramic and radiant ring hobs. The pans are also oven safe up to 220°C (Gas mark 7) so you can use them for baking or roasting almost anything. Select items from the range feature non-stick finishes, and these products have a 10 year warranty, whilst the rest of the range has a brilliant lifetime guarantee.

View all of the Le Creuset 3-Ply Stainless Steel range on the Go-Electrical website. Price start from £29.00

As normal there are recipe ideas on the Le Creuset website for dishes that can be prepared using the 3-Ply Stainless Steel range. Here is just one of those tasty recipes;
