More smart technology from Samsung

Wednesday, July 17th, 2013

Samsung home cinema has come to Go-Electrical. Not only are the newest Samsung televisions available to purchase from the Go website, we now also have the Home Cinema range, meaning you can enjoy a truly inclusive viewing experience.

There are Soundbars and Theatre Systems available from Samsung; a Soundbar, as you would probably guess, is a speaker which offers premium sound in the home and a Theatre System includes multiple speakers and a media player (usually DVD or Blu-ray).

The Samsung HW-F751 Soundbar is brilliant if you want to get the cinematic experience at home. It matches wirelessly with a 46” Samsung TV so that there is no need for a separate remote control, and its sleek silver finish also means that it can sit side by side with the new Samsung televisions without looking like an “add-on”. This Soundbar also comes with a Valve Amplifier which filters out unnecessary noise, and that means you can enjoy only the purest of sound whilst watching your favourite film or documentary.  This Soundbar also features a sensor which detects the speakers’ position and it then alters the sound output accordingly so the sound is perfect.

The Samsung HT-E350 Home Theatre System features five speakers and a DVD player. Place the speakers around the room to experience a true surround sound experience. Power bass technology means that the system produces a deeper, smoother and richer sound, and all the low notes are delivered to the viewer. As well as this, the HT-E350 also has another clever feature; Smart Volume. Smart volume means that with just a few adjustments and settings, the viewer doesn’t need to fuss about the volume level when switching channel, or from TV to DVD – all channels become balanced.

The top of the range Home Theatre System is the Samsung HT-F9750W which consists of a 3D Blu-ray & DVD system and an incredible seven speakers, including a Dualit Unit Subwoofer. This amazing piece of kit is definitely for the die-hard film buffs who like to see, hear and feel a film, but despite the amount of pieces the HT-F9750W is very easy to set-up. This easy set-up is thanks to Samsung’s clever intuitive graphical user interface which means even the most tech-phobic user can be enjoying surround sound in super-fast time.

If a Soundbar or a Home Theatre System sounds like something you would like to have in your home, then visit our Home Cinema pages here, and if you haven’t yet discovered the brilliant new Samsung televisions then you can find out about them on our website, or by visiting our previous blog post on them.

The big switch over

Tuesday, June 28th, 2011

TV is going digital. The existing analogue TV signal will be switched off and replaced with a new, stronger digital TV signal. It will mean that almost everyone will be able to receive digital TV through an aerial. You may have already been through this changeover, but some areas are still awaiting the arrival of Digital TV.

Yorkshire TV region – Switchover starts from: 3 August 2011

Meridian TV region – Switchover starts from: 8 Feb 2012

London TV region – Switchover starts from: 4 April 2012

UTV region – Switchover starts in: 2012

Tyne Tees TV region – Switchover starts in: 2012

Digital TV uses less broadcast space than analogue which means that there is more space for new services such as wireless broadband, local TV and High Definition Television. To keep your TV service, you will need to convert your TVs to digital before your area’s switchover date and by doing this you will receive not only your existing channels, but many more too.

Switching is easy, and can be done by just connecting a digital box to your existing TV. Remember though, that if you have more than one television you will have to consider all of them, and any TV equipment you may also have. This means that if you like to record TV programmes, and watch them later, you will need ensure that you get a digital TV recorder like a Sky+ or Freeview+ box.

Go-Electrical has a number of set-top boxes available so you can get Digital ready. The Humax Foxsat HDR (£143.40) provides a perfect (and cheaper) alternative to SKY+HD. It has an easy to navigate user interface and wide range of channels both of standard and high definition.  The HDMI port allows you to view High Definition channels in all their glory on a HD Ready TV.

A great recorder is the Sharp PVR TUTV322H (£163.90). With this great box, you can record up to 160 hours of tv, and it also has Top-up-TV compatibility which expands your viewing options. It combines Freeview+, a twin tuner and software that allows you to record two programmes simultaneously, and watch a pre-recorded one all at the same time! The box is simple and ‘one touch recording’ is the main feature – it is so easy to set it so that the whole series of your favourite show can be recorded.

If you have any questions about the Digital Switchover you can email us on sales@go-electrical.co.uk or you can visit the Digital Switchover website – http://www.digitaluk.co.uk/ which is brimming with advice and information.
