New KitchenAid products now available

Wednesday, April 24th, 2013

The day the news came through that there were some new KitchenAid products in the pipeline, we got very excited here in the Go-Electrical office. Then when we got the information through about the new products and saw the photographs, we got even more excited. So you can imagine what kind of state we were in when we were told the expected delivery date of some of these new products – excited doesn’t come close.

We’ve calmed down enough now to tell you all about these great new products, so let’s start with the products that are available to purchase now. Say hello to the KitchenAid Artisan 1.5 litre kettle and the KitchenAid Artisan two-slot toaster.

Designed in the same style as the KitchenAid Artisan stand mixer, the new toasters and kettles have a unique look. Both will be available in six different colours (Empire Red, Onyx Black, Almond Cream, Medallion Silver, Candy Apple and Frosted Pearl) and they are the perfect addition to any stylish home.  The kettles are built with a dual wall construction which means that the water inside stays hotter for longer, that the noise whilst in use is quieter than normal and that the outside of the kettle is cooler to the touch making it safer if children are around.

The best thing about the kettle though is that it can heat water to different temperatures. Select a temperature between 50°C and 100°C (perfect for people who enjoy different blends and types of teas) and then watch the gauge on the outside of the kettle go up. This gauge will work even when the kettle is off its base, so you know whether you need to re-boil it, or not, if you have forgotten someone’s cup of tea.

The two-slot toaster looks brilliant sat next to the kettle, and it doesn’t just look good. This toaster has an automatic inner cage which lowers and lifts the bread/toast, and it has a keep-warm function – we all know how annoying it is when your toast pops and you don’t get to it quick enough for the butter to melt.  The toaster also has seven shade settings so your toast is the perfect shade of golden brown (or dark brown if that’s what you like), and there are LED lights which countdown to when the toast is ready.

If you enjoy eating bagels for breakfast then this toaster is for you, as there is a bagel/bun function which toasts only on one side, but heats the other. There is a function to thaw and toast frozen breads, and there is also a sandwich setting which is used with the included sandwich cage to make great, tasty toasties.

Really, if you need a new matching toaster and kettle then you should seriously consider the KitchenAid Artisan products. Maybe you don’t need these two appliances though – Well don’t worry because as I mentioned to start, there are more new products on the way. New blender, food processor or chopper anyone?

The new KitchenAid Artisan food processors will be available in three sizes – 2.1 litre, 3.1 litre and 4 litre. The 2.1 litre food processor (5KFP0925) will be available in four colours and has been designed with small kitchens in mind. It may be compact, but KitchenAid haven’t compromised on the features. There is the ’ExactSlice’ system which consists of a manually adjustable slicing disc, 3-in-1 wide feed tube, uniquely-designed sharp blades, two speeds and a pulse. Team this with a main 2.1 litre bowl and a 710ml mini-bowl, and you have a brilliantly small, but efficient, food processor.

The 3.1 litre food processor (5KFP1335) will also be available in four colour options, and has the same features as the 2.1 litre, except that the adjustable slicing disc has an external lever so it can be easily adjusted. The standard bowls are 3.1 litre and 950ml capacity.

The 4 litre food processor (5KFP1644) will be available in six colour options and really is a food processor for every task – slicing, cubing, chopping, mixing, whipping and more. It has been awarded the ‘Initiative LifeCare’ award for ‘Kitchen Innovation Product of the Year 2013’. Like the other two models, this food processor features the ‘ExactSlice’ system, but also features the following;

*Die-cast metal body – making it extremely robust and stable

*Induction motor – reliable, powerful and quiet

*Three bowls – 4 litre, 2.4 litre and 1 litre

*Storage case

*Dicing kit – produces perfect cubes of fruit or vegetables.

If a food processor isn’t quite what you are after, then how about the new KitchenAid Chopper (5KFC3515). Available in three colours, this compact appliance is perfect for preparing sauces and dips. Team the 830ml bowl, with one touch operation, two speeds and a ‘liquid adder lid’, and you get a great little appliance perfect for any kitchen.

KitchenAid have long manufactured jug blenders, but here the UK we have always missed out on the hand blenders that the USA has been lucky enough to have. Well now that’s all changed – there is now a cordless handblender which is available with or without accessories (5KHB3583 or 5KHB3581), and a corded 5-speed hand blender (5KHB2571). This corded blender will be available in four colours and comes with three interchangeable bell blades, a 1 litre jug, a chopping bowl, stainless steel arms (20cm and 33cm), whisk attachment and a storage case.

 So, if any of the above sounds interesting, or you are just really nosey and want to see more, then keep an eye on our KitchenAid pages for the arrival of these new products. The two-slice toaster and kettle are already available so get yours now!

Magimix juicers and food processors get better and better

Thursday, February 14th, 2013

Magimix have made some changes to their food processor and juicer lines, and here at Go-Electrical we like their thinking.

Let’s start with the juicer range; this consisted of the ‘Le Duo XL’ range available in four colours, and the ‘Le Duo Plus XL’ available in just one colour. Magimix have done some switching around and now the ‘Le Duo XL’ is only available in White (18020), whilst the ‘Le Duo Plus XL’ now comes in Black/Silver (18055), Cream (18043) and Black (18045). There is also a new model which has been named ‘Salad & Juice’ (18061). As before the ‘XL’ in the product title means that the juicers feed tube is extra large, and whole fruits and vegetables can be put inside with prior chopping.

The ‘Le Duo XL’ features a citrus press, spatula and recipe book, the ‘Le Duo Plus XL’ features a citrus press, spatula, recipe book and a ‘SmoothieMix’ which Magimix say is “for extracting nectars, smoothies or coulis from fruit and vegetables”, and the ‘Salad & Juice’ model  features all of the above but has a ‘Salad Kit’ and this consists of a vegetable preparation attachment which can slice and grate all kinds of veg to 2mm or 4mm in size.

Magimix have also redesigned inside the juicers. They now feature a new basket which has a removable rim, and this makes cleaning the appliance far quicker and easier. The spout is also easy clean and is designed  for extraction of juice straight into glass.

In the past on this blog we have spoken about the health benefits of juicing and why it is growing ever popular. The Magimix website states, “Nutritionists and Dieticians say that having at least 5 portions of fruit and vegetables a day can help reduce the risk of heart disease and cancer. Natural drinks made with [a juicer] allow you to enjoy the full goodness of fruit and vegetables”. So there really is no reason for hesitation – if you are already considering a juicer then look no further, a Magimix is the one to get.

Take a look at the Juicer pages of the Go-Electrical website for more information, and other juicer models.

The Magimix food processors are incredibly popular, and one of Go-Electrical’s best sellers. Magimix have listened to customer and retailer feedback and decided to reduce the size of the food processor range making it easier for potential buyers to decide on the model which is most suitable for their needs.

Previously the food processor range consisted of models in the following sub categories; ‘3200’, ‘3200XL’, ‘4200’, ‘4200XL’, ‘5200’ and ‘5200XL’. As with the juicer the ‘XL’ stands for ‘extra large’ and this relates to the feed tube – this extra-large feed tube means that vegetables do not need to be chopped up prior to being put in the appliance, and this saves time and washing up, and this could be one of the reasons why Magimix have decided to remove most of the non XL models from their range.

There are so many possibilities with a Magimix food processor, and the brilliant range of accessories that are available increase these possibilities even more – different discs and attachments for mashing and juicing mean that there are no limits. You can take care of your appliance and accessories too by purchasing a protective cover or disc rack – keep everything dust free and all together in the cupboard for those occasions when time is short and faffing needs to be kept at a minimum.

The full Magimix food processor range is now as follows;

3200 White (18326) and Satin (18328)

3200XL Satin (18334)

4200XL White (18431), Cream (18435), Red (18432) and Satin (18434)

5200XL Chrome (18533) and Satin (18534)

5200XL Premium  in ten colour options

Small and compact but packing a punch…

Thursday, April 19th, 2012

Magimix seem to have been reading the same interior design magazines as ourselves, as they have just launched the ‘Le Mini’ food processor in 9 bright and vivid colours, meaning there is now 11 different finishes to choose from. We told you earlier in the year that colour was going to be big for 2012, and it seems that manufactures agree.

The Magimix ‘Le Mini’ food processor is a small product designed for the chef who has limited space, but big culinary ideas and needs. It still accommodates most of the functions a larger version would, so there is no need for lots of different gadgets or gizmos cluttering up the work surface. This powerful mini food processor has attachments to mix, grate, slice, chop, whisk, knead and liquidise your ingredients, and with one speed and a pulse function it definitely won’t confuse even the most novice cook.

The ‘Le Mini’ has definitely been designed to be easy to use – it features an automatic motor, which cleverly varies in power intuitively, to suit whatever ingredients are being blended, and comes with 2 different sized bowls so it is possible to create very small quantities with out too much hassle. The BlenderMix attachment is ideal for finely blending soups, milkshakes and smoothies, and best of all – all the bowls and blades are dishwasher safe, so no stress when it comes to the washing up!

If you think that the  ‘Le Mini’ might be the appliance for you, all you need to do is choose your colour (the bit that I can’t do). How about hot pink? Vivid violet? Lime green? Or maybe even tangerine orange? Ooooh it’s tricky…

Visit our Magimix pages to view the entire food processor range from Micro choppers right through to a big food processor that will cater for 6. All come with a range of accessories, and if you get stuck choosing you can take a minute to check out the helpful food processor guide.

Heard of Cuisinart yet?

Monday, May 16th, 2011

If you have read this blog before, you may be aware that I easily fall in love with different brands and products. Well, this blog is dedicated to Cuisinart simply because I love their products! So fickle, I know.

The Cuisinart brand specialises in small kitchen appliances, and they are massive in the USA with over 30 years of market prominence. In fact it is not unusual for a food processor to be called a “cuisinart” whether it is one or not! Cuisinart was founded by American Carl Sontheimer while he was living in France in the 1970s. In 1973 the first Cuisinart food processor was launched on the American market, and the brand was backed by famous food experts James Beard and Julia Child.

In 2003 Cuisinart was launched on the UK market, and although the brand is not yet as well known as Magimix, it is definitely making people think twice about which brand to use in their kitchens. Personally, I have the Cuisinart Espresso Maker on my wish list, and a Burr grinder to match. My mum on the other hand is pining for the award winning Soup Maker (Housewares Product of the Year 2010). Here at Go-Electrical we have a wide range of Cuisinart products from Multi Temperature Kettles to Griddles, Ice cream Makers to Pan Sets.

The Cuisinart Espresso Maker is fantastic for making great-tasting espresso, cappuccino, latte or any other coffee… Great if you are a coffee freak like me! With it you can make high quality coffee inside your own home, without the large costs of paying for it at a shop. It has a large 2 litre removable water tank, so you can make plenty of hot beverages without being interrupted. With 15 bar pump pressure system the espresso maker creates the perfect crema and flavour and the best bit is that it smells absolutely amazing! Anyone selling their house?

This machine is programmable so it can be pre-set with the desired cup strength and size, which means your daily wake up is just how you like it, every time. The stainless steel frothing arm that is built into the machine can create rich, creamy hot frothed milk in a matter of seconds, and it also comes with a hot water function so that you can also make tea.

Cuisinart products have great guarantee periods – the Espresso Maker has a 3 year guarantee, while the Burr Grinder has 5 years. The large food processors (which are fabulous by the way) have a massive 20 year guarantee on the motor! That is much more than other food processors (8 years more than Magimix!), and proves how confident Cuisinart are in the standard of their product.

As summer is upon us (well, we were hoping that it was but the sun seems to have gone) Cuisinart has some great products to make your summer a whole let better, whether it rains or not. With the Griddle & Grill you can get that BBQ feel indoors if you need to. This great appliance is award winning and is designed with healthy eating in mind. The grill plates allow the user to cook food while draining any excess fat off. The grill plates are also interchangeable which means you can switch between the griddling and grilling. The product can be a panini press so the kids won’t get bored of the same boring sandwiches during the summer holidays. The great thing about this appliance though is the way you can use it in different positions – you can adjust the machine to either be used as a grill press or lay it out to get double grill/griddle plates, fantastic! This means that if you really want to deep fill your paninis or put one or two thick beef steaks on the grill, then by using the adjustable floating hinge it gives you a bigger gap for you to grill with. Brilliant!

How about making some ice cream for the kids? And some tasty, fruity smoothies (or cocktails for the grow ups)? Well, grab yourself one of the fabulous Cuisinart ice-cream makers or their brilliant blender. The Elite Power Blender gives you total control over the taste and texture of your creations as the unique 6 edge blades ensure that all food is properly blended, and with the glass jug having a large 1.75 litre capacity you can serve all your guests without any fuss. The brilliantly heavy-duty blades combined with the powerful motor crushes ice in seconds which means you can serve your margaritas frozen or on the rocks, mmmmm yummy!

Here’s one of my favourite summer non-alcoholic cocktails, it is so refreshing when sunbathing. To get a BBQ party started just add some vodka or white rum.

Ingredients;

55ml fresh lime juice

1 cucumber, peeled and seeded, cut into 2cm pieces

800g seedless watermelon, cut into 2.5cm pieces

15g fresh mint leaves

Method;

Place all the ingredients in to the blender in the order listed.

Cover and blitz

Add some ice, and blitz again

Turn the power off,  serve in tall glasses with straws and umbrellas and enjoy the sunshine!

Visit the Go-Electrical Cuisinart page to view all the great products that are available at great prices. From pans to kettles, and soup makers to rice cookers there is no doubt in my mind that you will find something that you would like to have in your kitchen. Cuisinart are well made and reliable, and I’m told that once you have used one of their products you will want them all!

Go-Electrical & Dualit

Thursday, March 17th, 2011

Go-Electrical is one of the biggest independent retailers of Dualit in the UK, and our warehouse is packed with Dualit stock. We love Dualit!

Dualit have been at the foreground of the consumer market since the late 1970’s, but have been around a lot longer than that. The first flip-sided toaster was made in 1946 and the brand steadily grew through the 1950s and 60s. Throughout the decades, the brand has remained true to founder, Max Gort-Barten’s original vision, and today Dualit provides a range of quality kitchen appliances.

The Dualit toaster is a design icon. From the Vario to the Combi and Bun toaster models, they all share the same timeless styling, reliability and Dualit design features. Dualit toasters are still built by hand in the UK, with the assembler’s stamp on every base plate, and every part is replaceable, meaning that a toaster could be in your household for years and years and years. The perfect wedding present maybe?

We love the range of colours that these classic toasters are available in. From Glacier blue to Azure blue, Mint green to Lime green and Petal pink to Chilli pink there is one to suit every kitchen. If you are after a more understated look then you can choose from the traditional white, cream, black and chrome. Personally I’m a fan of the red – it just looks amazing in my monochrome kitchen!

It’s a lot bigger than toast though. Dualit now have a wide range of kitchen appliances to help you get the most out of your kitchen – it is the hub of the home after all. We love the Dualit Espressivo coffee machine because of its compact size, stylish look and great performance. It may look like a complex appliance, but it is really simple which means it isn’t a lot of effort making delicious coffee before rushing off to work in a morning. The 1.5 litre tank holds enough water for 50 standard espresso shots, and the Thermobloc technology means that hot water and steam is available after just 40 seconds from switch on. Here at Go-Electrical we have the Espressivo available in three fabulous colours – Chrome, Black and Red, perfect for country kitchen or city pad.

Other appliances that we love are all fabulously stylish and extremely reliable and robust. The new XL1500 food processor is great – it is easy to use with 3 different capacity bowls, nine different tools for chopping, mixing, slicing and shredding and a dough blade for pastry and bread making. Perfect for all your cooking and baking needs. The Dualit juice extractor is also an excellent piece of kit – it produces pure juice without froth and the extra capacity pulp container and juice jug allow for continuous juicing. It has a nice large feed tube too, which means less chopping!

To see the full range of Dualit products that we have available here at Go-Electrical, just click on the following link. Prepare to fall head over heels in love.
