Our Spring Cleaning offers are online now.

Here at Go-Electrical we know how important it is to have a lovely, clean house but we also know that cleaning isn’t necessarily what you want to be doing when the sun is finally beginning to shine again (sshhhh don’t scare it). We have looked through all our cleaning products and selected some of our most effective cleaning and laundry appliances to help you get that Spring Clean satisfaction. Here’s a closer look at three of the products:

AEG-ATT7920BP-Aptica-Pet-Cylinder-Vacuum-Cleaner-BlueThe AEG Aptica Pet cylinder vacuum is specially designed for pet owners who have to tackle pet hair in their homes. That is battle that can be won with the help of the Aptica’s Pet Turbo nozzle, purpose built to lift hair from furniture, floors and clothing. This vacuum can also help stay on top of any annoying odours in the household as it comes with a special carbon HEPA filter system, which removes up to 99% of allergens.

Samsung VU10F40SBDD Motion Sync Bagless Upright Vacuum Cleaner

The Samsung Motion Sync Bagless Upright Vacuum Cleaner is designed to make vacuuming your home as hassle free as possible, with it’s ‘Motion Sync’ design, this is probably the most maneuverable vacuum you offer! The unit’s HEPA filtration also helps to remove dust and dirt, however that isn’t all it does. The specially designed filter system is there to capture and hold air-borne allergens and those pesky dust particles, helping to keep your household air hygienically clean.

Rowenta-DG8960-Silence-Steam-Generator-Iron

Lastly for this blogpost, the Rowenta silence steam generator iron makes ironing out creases that bit quicker and easier. Rowenta’s own microsteam 400 stainless steel soleplate means this is a high quality bit of kit, designed for maximum steam output. This allows the the iron to produce 120g of steam per minute, meaning you will be able to easily glide through any pile of ironing you’ve accumulated and wave goodbye to all those creases. Steam generator irons are much more powerful than a standard steam iron, by creating such larger amounts of steam, which pumps constantly and consistently through the iron’s soleplate, they allow you to get through the ironing all the more quickly.

So have a peruse of our offers, get the house spotless, then get outside and enjoy the Spring!

Clean your act up for the New Year

Wednesday, January 4th, 2012

Every January we make resolutions that we promise to keep, and two weeks in to the new year the majority of people have already broken or are on the verge of giving up. Whether it be laziness or lack of belief it happens time and time again. Well, this year I am more determined than ever to keep my resolutions (at least past Valentine’s Day anyway), and Polti are going to help me with one of them.

Resolution: To clean the bathroom at least once a week

I don’t know about you, but I hate cleaning the bathroom – I hate it more than I hate cleaning the oven. It is a task that I try and put off as much as possible, or until the sink becomes so coated in toothpaste that it is no longer white but blue. So, I have decided that enough is enough. I have had enough of the rubber gloves and cream cleaning fluid, and using an old toothbrush on the grouting – I am going to invest in a Polti Steam Cleaner to hopefully banish my bathroom cleaning blues.

There are 19 different models of steam cleaner in the Polti range – one to suit every budget. All I need to do now is decide which model is best for me…lets take a closer look.

Under £50:

Polti Vaporettino Lux steam cleaner

A compact handheld steam cleaner with a 500ml pressurized boiler which turns 1000W of power into 3 bar of pressure. It has a cord length of 2.58 metres but is only 28.3cm tall so it is very easy to use. As standard it comes with; a brass brush, cloth, steam grout tool, steam lance, steam nozzle, a round brush, steam spatula and a window tool.

Under £100:

Polti Vaporetto Comfort steam cleaner

A small, manoeuvrable steam cleaner on wheels available in red or silver. The boiler volume is 1.6L and creates 3 bar of pressure, and up to 85g of steam per minute. It has onboard accessory storage and as standard comes with; small accessory kit, small accessory adaptor, large brush, small brush adaptor, cloths, extension tubes, filling bottle and funnel, a small brush and a window tool.

Under £200:

Polti Vaporetto Evolution steam cleaner

One of the new additions to the Polti family, the Evolution has a 1.7L capacity and creates 4 bar of pressure, with the capacity to output up to 110g of steam per minute. The cord is 4 metres long and the three wheels allow easy movement around the house. Standard accessories are; an accessory bag, cloths and socks, demo DVD, 120 degree tool, large floor brush, a small brush, a window kit and extension tubes.

Over £200:

Polti Vaporetto Eco Pro 3000 Lux steam cleaner

A larger machine with a 2.9L boiler, 2000W of power and 4 bar of pressure. It comes with a long 5m cord, low water indicator and an automatic cable winder. As standard the Eco Pro 3000 Lux comes with almost every accessory that will every be needed; 120 degree concentrator, accessory bag, cloths and socks, demo DVD, extension hoses, floor brush, pressure lance, small brush, squeegee kit and a triangular brush.

As I am not quite at the point where I want to steam clean my upholstery or carpets, and having very little storage space, I think I will opt for the handheld Vaporettino Lux cleaner as the grouting tool will definitely make the old toothbrush redundant, and it will hopefully speed up the cleaning time of the most dreaded room in the house.

What model will you choose to be your new best friend around the house, and deal with those cleaning tasks that you just can’t face? Take a look at the full Polti range at Go-Electrical’s Polti pages.

The Benefits of a Steam Cleaner

Thursday, April 22nd, 2010

With steam cleaners now available at such affordable prices, more and more people are enjoying the benefits of owning their own. There are so many advantages to being able to take out your own cleaner at the drop of a hat, rather than waiting for a professional company to fit you into their schedule. Steam cleaners don’t generally take up much more room than a vacuum cleaner and they’re a great way to ensure carpets get a really thorough clean, helping to eliminate mites and dirt. With allergies coming to the fore and everyone more aware of the importance of keeping their carpets and upholstery in tip-top condition, a steam cleaner is a great gadget to help ensure your house is as clean as possible.

If you own a pet then chances are you find your carpets and sofas doused with a regular layer of pet hair and, whilst regular vacuum cleaners can get rid of these, it’s only up to a point and there’s always a few stray hairs or a lingering animal smell in the room. A steam cleaner can really help to add a powerful dimension to carpet cleaning and also help to eliminate those lingering pet odours.

You might be surprised at how reasonable a good quality steam cleaner can be. As with everything, you can pick your cleaner according to your budget and the Polti Vaporetto range covers every budget and requirement. The entry-level model is the Easy Steam Cleaner, which is more than adequate for most domestic situations. However, if you want a bit more power then you might decide to go for the Vaporetto 950 or the 2400. For the ultimate steam-cleaning machine, choose the Vaporetto Eco Pro 3000 as you’ve got the ideal combination of looks and power! All the Vaporetto range can be complemented with a huge range of accessories and, depending on the model you choose, you can adapt your steam cleaner to clean hard floors and upholstery.

Top Tips For Looking After Your Polti Cleaner

Thursday, April 15th, 2010

polti logoPolti steam cleaners offer superior cleaning results using a super heated steam system. The steam is heated to 120C*, which means it is able to kill 99.9% of bacteria without the use of chemicals.  And because they only use water Polti steam cleaners are cheap and efficient to run. To keep your Polti steam cleaner running efficiently we’ve got some top tips

Tip 1 – Use Kalstop

Polti cleaners are really easy to use and look after, the only thing you should regularly add to the water is Kalstop. Kalstop helps to reduce the build up of limescale by leaving a protective seal around the boiler and accessories which helps steam flow better and keeps appliances running efficiently.

Kalstop also gives you a better clean because it removes the oxygen from the water, making the steam drier.

Polti recommend using 1 capsule of Kalstop per litre of water in the traditional boiler. or 1 capsule per 5 litres of water for continuous refill boilers (a litre of water creates 1000L of steam, about an hour of cleaning).

(If you have a model with an LCD screen then look out for the spanner symbol, it usually means that Kalstop is needed)

You can buy Kalstop for £9.99 for 20 capsules. Visit the Go-Electrcial website to buy Kalstop.

Tip 2 – Rinse out the tank

Rinsing the tank out periodically will remove the sediment of the lime scale at the bottom of the tank. Getting rid of it will keep your cleaner running smoothly.

Tip 3 – Watch out for steam escaping

If steam is escaping from the cap it could be due to a white disk (“polo mint”) needing to be replaced or a washer that needs replacing. It doesn’t happen very often but they do break down over time.

*Pocket and easy models heat steam to 110° killing 78% of bacteria.
